Northwest Las Vegas is dominated by the Summerlin master residential community, one of the most well know largest master planned communities in the greater Las Vegas Valley, if not the country – the 22,500 acre development is nationally recognized for its beauty, distinctive neighborhoods within the community, an elaborate system of parks and recreational amenities and diverse retail shopping centers that cater to every a wide variety of tastes and needs.

Other major communities in the Northwest Las Vergas area include Queensridge, another 1,100 acre master planned community with over 850 acres of residential land. The near northwest part of the area is one of the oldest communities in the area known as the “Scotch 80s” which was once home to a large number of celebrities.

Northwest Las Vegas has the distinction of being home to the largest number of golf courses in the greater Las Vegas Valley – these include: the Badlands, Painted Desert, Los Prados and Angel Park. The area has 3-5 shopping areas, including Meadows Mall, Boca Par and the Sahara Pavilion Oasis, as well as a sizeable number of small trendy boutiques.
