Boulder City has a great deal of history associated with it, as it sprung to life during the construction of the giant Hoover Dam in the early 1930’s – life here is a change of pace from the 24/7.365 lifestyle associated with Las Vegas. The town initially housed 3-5K workers during construction of the dam. The city is located 25 miles southeast of downtown Las Vegas and 10 miles southeast of Henderson and is considered one of the first “planned communities” in North America.

Boulder City is developing a unique ambiance and culture that is to a certain extent separate and unique from its neighboring cities – it has no gaming within the city limits and the city has adopted strict regulations to govern further growth, in the interest of maintaining a small town atmosphere for its residents. There are no master planned communities and/or mega resorts in Boulder City – the city’s governing body is implementing a 15K tree program, with the intent to plant a tree for every resident!
