Mount Charleston is about 35 miles northwest of Las Vegas and is called “Charleston Peak” by some local residents. It is located in the beautiful Spring Mountains in the Toiyabe National Forest and only a 45 minute drive from Las Vegas proper. It is a popular destination for those who want to ski and skiing is available typically from November through April at the Lee Canyon ski area and resort.
