We at times feel like the lonely “step child” to national media that pokes fun and ridicules our fair city. Today we had a gathering of civic leaders, reporters and local business execs to welcome the expansion of Expedia’s Egencia business travel division.
Yes, the national economic news today was not the best; but, we want our readers to understand the US Real Estate market is fragmented and each local market has it’s own strengths and weaknesses.
Nevada has one of the most pro business climates in the United States and this is one of the reasons why Expedia hired an additional 130 workers here in Las Vegas. And, our levels of affordability enable the average worker to buy a home here in Las Vegas.
Most of the Egencia workers will be making between $30-40K per annum, the great news is with a median price of a Las Vegas Home at $125K, most will be able to buy a home here as well. This was not the case in the not too distant past.
